2010 CMAR Scholarship Recipients!

Mendocino Coastal Association of REALTORS® annually present three scholarships awards to local students. Proceeds from monthly General Membership Meetings and raffles go into a scholarship fund making these awards possible. CMAR would like to thank our 2009-2010 Scholarship Chair Anna Borcich and her Scholarship committee, Carol Ann Walton, Mary Cesario Weaver, Scott Roat, Suzy Francis, & Suzie Gibson.

College of the Redwoods

AARON FARMER - $1000 Scholarship!

Aaron is a married man and father of 2 who attends College of The Redwoods finishing up his prerequisites. Aaron will be attending a paramedic school in the fall of 2010 enabling him to work part time as an EMT, while he supports and spends time with his family with a little help from financial aide. Aaron's goal is to eventually peruse a career in the nursing field as a flight nurse knowing that many medivac companies require both paramedic and nursing licenses. Aaron's volunteer work as a firefighter/EMT on the local fire department and a member of the Mendocino County Search & Rescue allows him to help the community while simultaneously providing the needed training and experience to attain his long term goals. Congratulations Aaron!

Mendocino High School

CHELSEA SCOTT - $1000 Scholarship

Chelsea is a graduating Senior at Mendocino High School and granddaughter of Lin Scott a local REALTOR®. Chelsea will be attending Chico State University and majoring in "Asian Culture and International Business". She will spend part of her student life at 2 different universities in Japan. She will minor in Art.
She hopes to have a career that enhances good relationships between the United States and Japan. Chelsea was introduced to Japan through the Sister City Program and developed a love of their culture. We hosted an exchange student from Miasa, Japan and the following year she lived with her family and attended school there. Through these experiences she has been introduced to officials and business people of Japan who have encouraged her and offered employment opportunities when she graduates.

Fort Bragg High School

Jacqueline Ayala & Tanya Ayala - $500 Scholarships

Jacqueline & Tanya are graduating Senior's at Fort Bragg High School. Jacqueline Ayala will attend Occidental College in Los Angeles where she will pursue her study of psychology or sociology with the goal of being a social worker. Tanya Ayala will begin here study of kinesiology at Saint Mary's College in Moraga.
